Intern v1.0 Is Here: A Mac Assistant Who Actually Remembers You

Today we are shipping the first public release of Intern — a resident Mac assistant for small-business operators that maintains persistent memory, tracks commitments, and gets sharper the longer they work with you.

Today, the Mac assistant goes public

After months of building, testing, and working alongside them ourselves every day, we are shipping v1.0.0 to the public. You can download Intern for Mac, drag them to Applications, and connect the same web account you use for checkout and recovery.

The current public handoff is the signed Mac app plus a web account. The web account owns checkout, billing recovery, support, and desktop pairing; the Mac app is where the daily work happens.

The problem we kept hitting

Every AI tool we tried — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini — is brilliant in the moment and useless across time. You explain your project, get great help, close the tab, and tomorrow it greets you like a stranger. After months of daily use, we had spent hours re-explaining our own context.

The industry calls this "stateless." We call it a dealbreaker for anyone who needs real operational help.

What your Intern does differently

Your Intern runs as a native Mac app on your desktop. They are not a browser tab you can accidentally close. They are not a wrapper around someone else's API. And most importantly, they remember everything.

Behavioral intelligence is our term for what happens when their memory becomes useful. They do not just store transcripts — they detect patterns in how you work:

  • What you commit to and whether you follow through
  • Which people and projects you mention repeatedly
  • What tends to slip through the cracks when your week gets busy
  • How long you have been away and what you were working on before

Then they act on that understanding. A morning brief that knows your actual schedule. Follow-up nudges before promises expire. Conversations that pick up where you left off, not where a new session started.

Six surfaces, one relationship

Your Intern is organized around the current product rail:

Today — Their operating brief for you. Open it each morning and see what they have assembled overnight: weather, calendar, commitments, and what needs your attention. Real data from your life, not a chatbot prompt.

Chat — Their main channel. They talk like a person, remember context, and keep practical follow-through moving. Every conversation builds on the last.

Skills — The work patterns and capabilities they can apply inside reviewed boundaries.

Apps — Reviewed connections such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Slack, and Notion.

Routines — Where recurring briefs, prep, and follow-through stay scheduled and reviewable.

Me — Where you set boundaries, preferences, and account context. They adapt to feel like your coworker, not a generic bot.

Privacy is not a feature — it is the architecture

The Mac app is the product surface for daily work. The web account exists for sign-in, checkout, support recovery, and desktop activation, so a normal user does not need runtime settings or API keys.

The app is code-signed and notarized by Apple. It runs natively on Apple Silicon. They do not phone home with your data.

We made this choice because the kind of memory they build — your commitments, your relationships, your work patterns — is deeply personal. It should never leave your machine unless you explicitly choose to share it.

Who they are for

Your Intern is built for small-business operators: owners, consultants, service teams, and independent professionals with real obligations and too many open loops.

If you have ever wished your AI assistant could just remember what you were doing yesterday — they are for you.

What comes next

This is v1.0, not the finish line. Their immediate roadmap includes:

  • Google OAuth — One login connects their calendar and email access
  • Scheduled morning briefs — Push notifications at your preferred time, even when the app is in the background
  • Proactive check-ins — They reach out when they notice something needs your attention
  • Relationship memory — Deeper understanding of the people in your professional life

We ship weekly. Every update makes them a little more like the dependable colleague they are meant to be.
